for the record:
- i am from the jersey shore
- i enjoy watching the show
- seaside heights is commonly refered to as "sleazeside"
- sleazeside is the guido capital of jersey shore towns
what i don't understand is this:
fearing that a tv show will "tarnish ur image" will "tarnish ur image"!
i feel like the show will help the jersey shores economy by increasing tourism to nj because ppl will want to...
"see guidos in their natural habitat"
in an Washington Post article titled "At Jersey shore, thumbs down for 'Jersey Shore'" by Geoff Mulvihill, he writes:
"Some people are like, 'Oh, my God, look how dumb this makes New Jersey look,'" he said. "But it's not even a show about New Jersey. It's about people who come down to the Jersey shore."
jersey locals don't just hate guidos,
we hate everyone on vacation...
for these people, vacation=fuckin lala land
not sure if this video represents the pre-guido era or is it the origin of guido culture?
kinda feel bad to see italians targeted but...
there is truth behind every stereotype
as I was writing this i realized:
the average viewer of 'jersey shore' probably has the same level of iq as the jersey shore cast
therefore, i can now understand a little more about where this whole "new jersey's image backlash" comes from
however...
after the "backlash" by italian/guido/wop organizations:
- mtv 'blacked out' the 'snooki punch'
- mtv no longer refers to them as "guidos"
i agree with both those decisions...however...
- the snooki punch has already gone viral
- the cast refer to themselves as guidos
do u <3 the show jersey shore?
do u h8 the show jersey shore?
are you from the jersey shore?
are you from staten island?
are you a local?
are you a guido?
does anyone watch mtv anymore?
